IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: Actions Regarding Quest 2 Removable Foam Facial Interface

Oculus has recently taken actions in response to a very small percentage of users reporting a generally mild skin irritation where the foam portion of the Quest 2 facial interface rests on the skin. They are offering a free silicone cover to Quest 2 headset and Quest 2 Fit Pack owners.

Mighty Ape parallel imports the Oculus headset, and we are awaiting confirmation from Oculus whether the recall program covers us.

In the meantime, we recommend lodging a request with Oculus regardless, as per below.

What is happening?

Oculus are participating in a voluntary recall of the Oculus Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). For context: As more people started using Quest 2, Oculus received reports that a very small percentage of Quest 2 customers were experiencing skin irritation after using the Quest 2 removable foam facial interface. Oculus have been working hard to address the issue, working with experts and making adjustments to the manufacturing process, and communicating proactively with regulators.
The safety and comfort of every customer is top priority. As part of this commitment Oculus are now offering a free silicone cover to Quest 2 headset and Quest 2 Fit Pack owners globally.

Is my Quest 2 part of the recall?

Oculus has issued a voluntary recall of the Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Oculus are now offering a free silicone cover to all Quest 2 headset, Quest 2 facial interface accessory and Quest 2 Fit Pack owners.
Oculus are doing so in response to reports from a very small percentage of users who have experienced skin irritation where the foam portion of the facial interface rests on the skin.

If you experience a skin irritation or reaction, you should immediately stop using the removable foam facial interface, and should contact Facebook to receive a free silicone cover.
