Great quality – The openness of the headphones was great especially when mixing tracks, creating a natural listening environment. Very light on the ears, no pain from too much pressure :D
When paired with a good sound card these headphones are amazing for gaming. I understand what the term ‘Rich Sound ' and 'Open Sound Stage’ mean now. These headphones reproduce a rich sound which fill the ears comfortably, and credited to the open back design it feels like the sound is created from all around the listener. The ambient sounds of wind or a spaceships engines humming gently fill in the voids as apposed to being forced into the ear overpowering other game sounds. I highly recommend these headphones for gaming when used on a Sound Blaster Z (which comes with a mic).
These are fantastic headphones. The primary difference with these are that you can hear everything around you while they're on your head. Sound-wise it is incredibly clear & crisp and I'd say is particularly suited for those who want a different experience to your typical gaming headset.
The audio quality is fantastic, but this is not for those who love their bass. Music wise, these are better suited for the likes of metal, rock, classical & electronic – due to the fact that these are NOT heavy on bass, but incredibly crisp otherwise.
For $300 I wouldn't recommend it, as you can get more for your money spent elsewhere – but for a special price I'd go for it.
PS: Looking for a mic- I'd recommend the Sony ECM-CS3 as a cheap option that still represents good mic quality.
Designed for incredibly comfortable listening.
With a lightweight honeycomb aluminum casing and magnesium frame structure, these open-air headphones produce no sense of pressure on the ears, offering a completely natural listening experience. Newly designed 53 mm drivers with CCAW voice coils reproduce remarkably natural sound, with impactful bass and outstanding vocal projection. The self-adjusting wing support automatically adjusts to your head size. A straight OFC cable at the left earpiece terminates to a mini plug with included ¼" adapter.
