At the beginning of 2005, with the help of the Sunday Star-Times, Edmonds launched the search for new Zealand's favourite recipes.
Thousands of responses were received detailing not only their best-loved recipes but also the most missed, as well as wonderful memories that Edmonds recipes evoked. Responses came from the length and breadth of new Zealand spanning many generations - for the first time in one book these are truly New Zealand's favourite recipes.
