Dr. Ahmed Awaisu received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria in 1999, his masters and Ph.D degrees in Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2004 and 2009, respectively. He is also a licensed pharmacist and has practiced in the hospital setting since 1999. Dr. Awaisu has a unique privilege of past academic experiences in international pharmacy degree programs. He has made substantial and tremendous contributions that impact teaching and learning, research, curriculum design, as well as professional development of students and healthcare practitioners in Qatar and other countries. He received the “Qatar University Merit Award for Outstanding Faculty” for 2016-2017 Academic Year. He is a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), among others. Emad Eldin Munsour holds a master degree in Pharmacy practice and has around 16 years in pharma-regulatory and compliance area. He looks after the authorization of pharmaceutical products, including evaluation of bioequivalence studies, clinical trials, and Pharmacovigilance system, in addition to CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls).Emad is the editor of Qatar National Formulary (QNF) and is a professional reviewer for the WHO bulletin and Value in Health Regional issues. He is also involved in many projects related to Qatar National Health Strategy (NHS) i.e. National Drug Coding, Generic use and advancement of the pharmaceutical legislative framework. He shared his research in various international conferences and published some articles on pharmaceutical care and other pharmacy practice areas. Dr. Rabia Hussain Ph.D. is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. Her research focuses on medication safety and pharmacovigilance in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). She has extensively published on pharmacovigilance, pharmacy practice research methods, issues related to medicines use, and clinical pharmacy. She has published in journals including The Lancet, Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy, International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy, Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, Journal of Public Health, Vaccines, Health and Quality of Life Outcomes, The Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology: In Practice and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, while the book chapters are in Elsevier and Springer books on pharmacy such as “Encyclopaedia of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy” and “Pharmaceutical Policy in Countries with developing health systems”. She also worked with the ReAct – Action on Antibiotic Resistance, Uppsala University, Sweden on “improving the use of antibiotics”. Dr. Hussain is the Section Editor of Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice (JoPPP), editorial board member of Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy and academic editor for Plos One. Her edited work includes “Encyclopaedia of Evidence in Pharmaceutical Public Health and Health Services Research in Pharmacy (Elsevier)” and “Health Literacy in Medicines Use and Pharmacy: A Definitive Guide, (Elsevier)”. Professor Zaheer-Ud-Din Babar is Professor in Medicines and Healthcare and the Director of Centre of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice Research at the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. He is globally known for his work in pharmaceutical policy and practice, including quality use of medicines, clinical pharmacy practice, access to medicines and issues related to pharmacoeconomics. He has published in high impact journals such as PLoS Medicine and the Lancet and has acted as a consultant for World Health Organization, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, Health Action International, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, World Bank, European Union, International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and for the Pharmaceutical Management Agency of New Zealand. His edited work includes "Economic evaluation of pharmacy services", “Pharmaceutical prices in the 21st century”, “Pharmaceutical policies in countries with developing healthcare systems ", “Global Pharmaceutical Policy”, “Pharmacy Practice Research Methods” and “Encyclopedia of Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy”. Published by Elsevier and Adis/Springer, the work is used in curriculum design, policy development and for referral all around the globe.
