Author Biography:

Kerrie Holley is currently the Director, Healthcare and Life sciences Industry Solutions, Google Cloud. Prior to this position, Kerrie joined United Health Group (UHG), Optum, as their first Technology Fellow and Senior Vice President focused on advancing and applying several technologies like artificial intelligence, deep learning, natural language processing and ambient computing. Kerrie spent the bulk of his career at IBM where he was an IBM Fellow, Master Inventor and now IBM Fellow [Emeritus]. His last assignment with IBM Research. He was IBM's first African American Distinguished Engineer. He is fond of appearing on ABC News and a TED talk to discuss IBM's Watson the day after its historic debut on Jeopardy! He holds a number of technology patents and is the author of two books: "Your Company Ready for Cloud" and "100 SOA Questions: Asked and Answered." His third book is due to publish in 2020, "AI First Healthcare" with co-author Dr. Siupo Becker, MD at UHG. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from DePaul University in Chicago; a Juris Doctor Degree and an honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters. In his current role as a Senior Principal Architect at Google, he advises payers, providers, and life sciences customers on how to leverage Google's state-of-the-art AI technologies to solve their complex business problems and build new business models. Prior to joining Google, Manish was with Johnson & Johnson, where he led a global team of data, analytics, and AI professionals. Their collective efforts were dedicated to tackling intricate obstacles pertaining to drug discovery and commercialization, challenges that are commonly encountered by prominent pharmaceutical corporations on a global scale. At Walgreens, Manish spearheaded the creation of a sophisticated technological solution aimed at seamlessly integrating healthcare management within the accessible and convenient framework of retail environments. Manish's earlier professional experiences encompass significant roles at institutions such as the American Medical Association and Deloitte Consulting. Manish is a recognized expert in the field of healthcare technology and has published extensively on the topic. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and is a member of several professional organizations. Manish is passionate about using technology to improve the quality of healthcare and is committed to helping organizations leverage AI to solve their most pressing challenges.
