The Residents combined melodies and lyrics from their history to create new songs to whistle on the way to work.
Back in 1992, when group was only 20 years old, The Residents were searching for a way to celebrate their birthday. A “Greatest Hits” album was suggested, after a moment of brainstorming, they opted for mash-ups, an idea they had invented with “The Beatles Play the Residents” in 1977. Inspired, the group combined melodies and lyrics from their twenty years to create new and intriguing tunes.
