Great all round family movie, enjoyed it!
As the Marvels and DC movies get darker and darker, Shazam is a refreshingly return to the fun side of the super-verse. It's a bit on the slow side to start and there's no great insights into the human condition or anything, just a fun take on every 14 year olds dream to be an on-call superhero… I think Sazam the superhero is a bit corny but then he's probably meant to be as a young teen's take on super-ism, not much different from Spiderman really. Despite the slow start, I really enjoyed Shazam once the story started rolling and there's clearly scope for further integration into the DC-verse, hopefully without losing the fun aspect…

This streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou).
