Purchased on Mighty Ape

If you like your lemonade with a twist, then you will love this album! Quirky melodies, unexpected directions, strong vocals and interesting lyrics.

Stand out songs are Mowgli's Road and I am not a Robot.

A little Florence and the Machine, a touch of Kate Bush and more than just the slightest hint of Dresden Doll's Amanda Palmer.

I purchased this album on the strength of only one song and was delightfully surprised and impressed by the depth and range of this performer. This is definitely going on my repeat play list.

Purchased on Mighty Ape

needs to be listened to more than once but then it gets thoroughly lodged in your head. Mowgli's Road in particular is wonderful and the video on youtube superb.

Description

Marina Lambrini Diamandis better known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singersongwriter.

She rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll list, coming second to Ellie Goulding. After releasing one EP, Diamandis released her second EP, The Crown Jewels EP, with help from Neon Gold Records in 2009.

Now signed to 679 Recordings, The Family Jewels, is her full length studio album.
