Author Biography:

Joe Follansbee is the author of seven books, including Shipbuilders, Sea Captains and Fishermen: The Story of the Schooner Wawona, The Fyddeye Guide to America's Maritime History, and The Fyddeye Guide to America's Lighthouses. He runs a companion website to the Fyddeye Guide at www.fyddeye.com. He also works as the communications director for the tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain. He has written a novel for young adults, Bet: Stowaway Daughter, based on his research into Pacific Northwest maritime history. He lives in Seattle with his wife, two daughters, four chickens, and a rat.
