Hugh Johnson is widely regarded as the world's foremost wine writer and one of the greatest authorities in his field. Hugh's remarkable series of wine books began in 1966 with the internationally best-selling Wine. Through this and subsequent award-winning titles, including The Story of Wine and The Wine Companion, he reveals a rare talent for making a complex subject both accessible and hugely enjoyable. The first edition of the World Atlas of Wine was published in 1971; acclaimed throughout the world, it has been subsequently translated into 14 languages. Jancis Robinson is internationally renowned for her witty, authoritative wine writing. Her award-winning books, including Vines, Grapes and Wines (1986) and the hugely successful Oxford Companion to Wine (1994, 1999) are among the most important landmarks in wine literature.
