Texas are one of the most important and significant bands to come out of Scotland ever. ‘White On Blonde’ was the band’s first number one on the Albums Charts, and became their biggest seller with top ten hits like “Say What You Want”, “Halo”, “Black Eyed Boy” and “Put Your Arms Around Me”. Vocalist Sharleen Spiteri and company traffic in various avenues of music, including Motown sounds on the title track and rock on the track “Postcard”. The album closes with the superb “Breathless.” Singer Sharleen Spiteri has described ‘White On Blonde’ as a modern soul record. This is the definitive Texas album, and nothing they have done before or since has quite matched up to it.
